nobis gentilis
-a continues story
Inspired by radiolarian, ‘nobis gentilis’ are a family of sculptures that inhabit the global ocean. Formed with a set of rules, that morph and change, they play with symmetry scale and proportion. This work elaborates on work by Ernst Häckel. A German zoologist, philosopher and freethinker. His extensive research is documented as lithographic plates, which were published widely. In the early 20th Century his work was used as a basis in Architecture and the Art Nuevo. His last major publication, ‚Art Forms in Nature’ is where this work begins.
