3 bodies, porcelain and wire

Finalist in the York Botanic Art Prize 2021
Galery 152, York

Belonging to a series of sculptural works exploring the relationship between different organisms and the beauty arising from these unexpected connections.

Inspired by the hemi-parasitic moodjar, Nuytsia floribunda or West Australian Christmas Tree.
Juxtaposing the solid porcelain bodies with wire weavings that interlace and extend the form. Exploring the relationship between the different materials and techniques, as well as their dependency on each other to create balance in the work. Like the hemi-parasitic moodjar, the work highlights the possibilities of different elements coming together and the reliance all elements have on their connections.
